A Knocked Out Tooth

This can be a pretty scary situation to experience, which is why it’s important that you know what to do in case it does happen to you. You will want to handle the knocked out tooth by the crown only (never the roots). Rinse it off with warm water and then try to place it back in the socket. If it doesn’t go back into place then tuck it between your cheek and the gums and come into our office right away. A knocked out tooth can be sometimes be reattached if you seek care within one hour after your injury.

Cracked or Fractured Tooth

Not everyone will know when they have cracked or fractured a tooth, but you may notice dental pain or extreme tooth sensitivity when chewing or putting any pressure on the tooth. In some cases, the crack may even be visible. A damaged tooth is also much weaker, which means that it can continue to incur damage if you aren’t careful.
